Daniel Jones Memorial Fund Concerts
Thanks to the generosity of the family of Daniel Jones, and to many other individuals who have contributed to the Daniel Jones Memorial Fund, the Lake Street Church Concert Choir is able to present, free to the public, major choral works with orchestra once or twice a year. For a partial list of works performed, see Concert Choir.
Occasional Concerts
Lake Street Church musicians and/or outside artists occasionally present concerts in addition to those already described. For example, Lake Street Church has hosted a Main Street Opera in a concert featuring Italian songs and arias, and in 2016 and 2019 the LSC Concert Choir presented a Broadway night.
Specialty Ensembles
Drawing on the diverse interests and talents of our congregation, Lake Street Church offers an opportunity for specialty ensembles to perform on occasion. Please talk with Music Director Diana Schmück about the possibility of having your ensemble participate at Lake Street Church.

The Wailin’ Mahalias
This highly spirited group of singers and instrumentalists seeks to entertain, uplift, inspire and encourage with traditional and fresh arrangements of folk and non-denominational gospel music. The Wailin’ Mahalias are known for their upbeat rhythms, soulful vocal harmonies and positive messages. In addition to entertaining in the larger community, the Wailin’ Mahalias are heard at some Lake Street Church services and events.
The Lake Street Jammers
The Lake Street Church Jammers are a group of people of all ages who, approximately once a month, eat, sing and play music just for the sheer fun of it. Someone volunteers to host, and all participants bring food to share. After socializing over a meal, they play and sing out of a songbook: usually spirituals, folk, rock, and pop favorites.
