Music
Music is an integral part of the Lake Street Church community, creating one of the strongest ties people feel to the church.
Congregants participate as singers, instrumentalists and listeners. In the worship service, music inspires and motivates us toward growth and action. It deepens our awareness of the Divine and our connection to each other. Music unites us as we celebrate and mourn together. It consoles, strengthens, calms, yet energizes us; and it moves us to think and live in new ways.

The Lake Street Church community enjoys classical and contemporary music from within and outside of the Christian tradition, presented in most services by our Chancel Choir.
The Youth Ensemble, Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir and Crystal Ringers tone chime choir also contribute their music to services, welcoming musicians of all ages and abilities to join them. All who love to sing are welcome to participate.

A Music Director/Organist, a Choir Director, and four professional singers support the choir.
Lake Street Church musicians often connect with other faith communities. Our youth have joined with youth from the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation of Evanston and Second Baptist Church to present service music; and our Chancel Choir has joined in multi-choir fund-raising concerts to benefit Interfaith Action of Evanston and the H.E. Lane Center for Positive Change. Lake Street Church also sponsors special concerts for the wider community.
