Family Activities
Throughout the year fun events help families and children mark the season and enjoy one another’s company.
Holiday activities include an Easter Egg Hunt and several Christmas events: the Solstice Spiral Walk where participants carry candles to “bring light out into the world;” the Christmas Posada, a procession commemorating the experience of Mary and Joseph seeking shelter in Bethlehem (followed by a joyful celebration in MacLeish Hall); and our Instant Christmas Pageant (no rehearsal — just show up and participate!).
We also host monthly Messy Church events for all ages and all abilities. Messy Church is typically the third week of the month on a weeknight and includes a shared meal, creative expression using crafts and music, and a celebration of community and abundance.
Service project opportunities include collecting donations for the Niños Project and volunteering at Feed My Starving Children. Potluck dinners incorporate themes like “Bingo Night” or talent shows. Families who aren’t able to attend church regularly during the summer can “take-out” church. We offer materials and activity suggestions to stay connected with our community until we can all be together again.
