For the conclusion of the monks' visit to Lake Street they will perform an Evening of Sacred Chant. They will chant prayers and perform rituals to release the sound from within singing prayers in the traditional overtone chanting style. Devi 2000 will also perform - Chicago's premier kirtan chanting group. Kirtan is a call and response chant with roots in the Indian subcontinent.
