Weather permitting, we will hold an Easter Vigil service in the church courtyard. In more traditional Christian churches, an Easter vigil service often marks the official transition from Lent to Easter. It typically begins outdoors, with a fire from which the Paschal candle is lit, and culminates in the return of "Alleluia" as a part of the worship service. In our version, we will use the framework of the resurrection story to mourn what we have lost, both personally and as a greater community in the last year, while also turning our attention to the renewal of hope and new life in the world. Masks and distancing between households will be required, and there will be no singing. However, you will be invited to participate in several ritual actions to make meaning together.
