Dear Friends and Members of Lake Street Church,

On Easter Sunday, we will continue with the theme that I proposed at the start of Lent: “You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.” – Pablo Neruda.

I hope that you are having a meaningful Holy Week. I particularly want to invite you to several events and engagement opportunities this week:

On Wednesday, you are invited to our Mid-Week Gathering, where we will discuss what Spring can teach us in this anxious time:

On Holy Thursday we will have a Blues Maundy Thursday Service at 7pm with music by John Kattke, and I will share some short reflections about this holy day:

On Good Friday, you are invited to listen to Ron Watkins’ gracious offering of “Were You There,” and you are also invited to visit the Good Friday Walk for Justice’s website and download their 40th anniversary prayer booklet.

This Holy Week is a blend of the new and the old. Come hear an old story in a new way, in a new place (your home.) I think we are up to the challenge of not only mourning our in-person gathering, but of embracing the new opportunities for worship this provides us.

Blessings and Peace,

Rev. Michael Woolf
